Dennis Zogbi
About the Founder and CEO
Dennis M. Zogbi, is the founder and chief executive officer of Paumanok Publications, Inc. and Passive Component Industry Magazine.
Mr. Zogbi started Paumanok Publications, Inc. in 1988 when he was in his Junior year at The State University of New York. Early research by Mr. Zogbi was conducted in a variety of markets including electronic components and subassemblies, abrasives, hard and superhard materials, engine components, gaskets, packings and seals; sports optics; fishing tackle, firearms and ammunition, and a variety of additional markets.
In 1989, Mr. Zogbi conducted a single client project in overvoltage protection on varistors for AVX Corporation. It was Ron Demcko in Raleigh that suggested to Mr. Zogbi that he focus on passive electronic components exclusively.
By 1993, Mr. Zogbi completed coverage of all capacitors by dielectric within North and South America.
In 1993, Paumanok began a 14 year relationship with CARTS and the Paumanok Capacitor and Resistor Marketing Seminar.
And By 1995 passive electronic component market research extended to include all linear and non-linear resistors; and all fixed capacitors by dielectric on a global basis, to include Japan, China, Europe, Israel, The Americas and South East Asia.
In 1996, Mr. Zogbi successfully completed the mathematical equations required to determine raw material content within each passive component grouping; thus connecting ceramic, metal and plastic film consumption (raw materials) by the passive component industry.
In 1997, IBM and Mr. Zogbi jointly developed the concept of providing high frequency market intelligence on a monthly basis. Paumanok subsequently launched monthly reporting on MLCC, chip resistor and tantalum capacitors for major consumers of passive components in the computer, telecommunications, automotive and consumer electronics market segments.
In 1997, Mr. Zogbi launched Merger and Acquisition support services for the passive component industry including due diligence, and “finder” services for company’s looking to buy other companies in the capacitor, resistor, inductor and circuit protection component space.
In 1998 Mr. Zogbi developed the first in a series of market intelligence on overvoltage and overcurrent protection components to include varistors, PTC thermistors, NTC thermistors, electronic, blade and cartridge fuses, gas tubes, zener diodes, SAD diodes and thyristors.
In 1998, in the Arab City of Jaffa, Mr. Zogbi and Glyndwr Smith of Vishay discussed the concept and development of Passive Component Industry Magazine.
In 1999, Mr. Zogbi launched Passive Component Industry Magazine. EIA and ECA are 12.5% partners each. Mr. Zogbi retains 75% control to this day.
In 2000 and 2001, Mr. Zogbi was directly active in helping the United Nations understand Tantalum mining in the DRC, which was slipping into civil war.
In 2002, Mr. Zogbi begins writing monthly article for TTI, world’s largest distributor of passive components.
In 2006, Mr. Zogbi announces its joint venture with TTI wherein TTI will distribute Paumanok’s market research publications to its global customer base through Marketeye®.
In 2007, Mr. Zogbi designs and implements a global database for the United States government to help track shipments of mission critical electronic components used in defense electronics.
In 2008 Mr. Zogbi to present marketing seminar at Capacitor and Resistor Technology Symposium in Newport Beach California (This will be Mr. Zogbi's 24th appearance at CARTS).
